About the job

The purpose of this Hospitality (Front/Back of House) Traineeship in Toowoomba is to provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge through completing on the job working experience and training with an employer whilst completing a nationally recognised course of training through a registered training organisation.

About you

- A willingness to develop skills and knowledge. - The ability to listen, follow instructions and ask for assistance when required. - The desire to make a positive contribution to the workplace by being punctual, showing interest and adhering to the relevant workplace policies and procedures. - The ability to act responsibly and safely in the workplace. - The ability to develop effective working relationships both in the workplace as well as with Golden West Apprenticeships team members. - The ability to complete timesheets correctly and on-time.

What to expect

Hospitality (Front/Back of House) employees use key service skills and knowledge such as food and beverage service, barista skills, cash handling/register operations, and basic food preparation and safety. To be successful in hospitality you will need a commitment and passion for the hospitality industry, a positive attitude and be prepared to provide a high level of customer service. Day-to-day tasks may include: - greeting customers and determines their requirements - answering enquiries on events and may distribute programmes and information - taking orders, serving food and preparing tables - food preparation - picking up glasses, putting out coasters and setting tables - storing clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately - loading and unloading dishwashing machines - assisting with a range of duties involved in the operation of a bar.
